I really love this smoothie because it is so quick and simple to make. In fact, green smoothies are versatile, filling and fun and are one of my very favorite staple breakfast, or afternoon go-to meals.
I usually keep plenty of greens in the refrigerator so that I always have an ample supply on hand. Also because it’s important to rotate your greens everyday to keep from getting alkaloid build-up, which is rare, but can occur if you eat the same greens day after day.
Keep in mind, although this smoothie has spinach, you can pretty much use any leafy green vegetable that you like. I like spinach best because it makes a SUPER smooth smoothie with a lovely, creamy texture especially when combined with a frozen banana!
Banana, Mango & Spinach Smoothie
- 1 medium Frozen Banana
- half medium Fresh or frozen mango
- 1 bunch organic spinach
- 1 cup water
In your blender pitcher add 1 pre-frozen banana (this can also be a fresh banana, but I like frozen because it makes for a creamier smoothie without ice. If you use a fresh banana be sure to add some ice to your smoothie to cool it down.
2. Add your frozen mango and one bunch or washed spinach (no, you don't have to dry it off).
3. Add your water and blend for at least one minute. You can then pour your creamy, yummy green smoothie into a glass and drink, or into a jar or other container to take on the road with you...
I usually just drink mine straight from the jug - Enjoy!
You can also add your favorite "booster" (super-food addition) like spirulina, chlorella, chia seeds, milled linseeds, etc.
